Participate as the department’s representative at I.E.P.C. Meet with instructional staff and administrators to coordinate activities with the schools so as to best meet the needs of students and the school district. Check bus stops to ensure they meet all laws. Maintain daily log of student absences, driver absences, bus breakdowns, student emergencies and maintenance records. Monitor radio and appropriately respond to all calls. Assign transportation staff including substitutes, and acquaint bus staff with routes. Develop and train transportation personnel on procedures required by Laws and Regulations, Employee Contracts, Procedure Manuals and Board Policy. Recruit, select, instruct, evaluate and supervise personnel. All aspects of management and supervision will be required. Supervise and instruct transportation employees in day-to-day operations. Responsibilities Shall Include But Not Be Limited To Demonstrate the ability to direct workforce with consistent application of work rules as required by Laws, Regulations, Employee Contracts, Procedure Manuals and Board Policy. Meet and maintain required Drug and Alcohol Reasonable Suspicion Supervisor training as required by the U.S. Meet and maintain Michigan Department of Education Transportation Supervisor Certification. 
Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.Physically capable of lifting and balancing 40-60 pounds to assist students with special needs in a variety of emergency situations.Meet and maintain Michigan School Bus Driver qualification and licenses.Ability to cope with conflict while maintaining an even temperament, patience and consideration.Ability to function under time constraints in a complicated and fast-paced environment.Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills.Experience in route scheduling and computerized routing.
Highly organized and capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Experience in school bus transportation or related field.RESPONSIBLE TO : Transportation CO-Directors This position will have a primary emphasis on routing and dispatch. PRIMARY ROLE : Responsible for supervising all student transportation for Center-based Special Education programs to enable each student, through safe and efficient transportation, to take full advantage of instructional opportunities.
